Best Games to be Played on an Android Phone

These are some of the best Android games to play with friends. Fun multiplayer games that will get your competitive spirit going, keep you entertained, and help you stay in touch with friends and family.

Multiplayer games aren’t really a genre, like FPS shooters or racing games, but rather a mode you’ll find in many of the most popular Android games.

Whether you’re looking for battle royale games, trivia, brain teasers or anything in-between, we have you covered. Multiplayer games can be on a phone you share, multi-device, or online games like Clash of Clans. We have a little of something for everyone, so let’s have some fun.

There are literally thousands of Android games available on the Play Store, but most of them are single-player games. Eventually, you’ll want to compete to be the best, top your friends, or earn bragging rights. If so, you’ll want to play these fun multiplayer Android games with your buddies.

Smartphones are social devices, so you might as well play games with all those people you’re constantly texting, tweeting, or sending Snapchat messages to.

Our slideshow below is in no particular order. We found fun games in several different genres in an effort to offer at least something for everyone, or any group. These are the best multiplayer Android games that offer a great experience overall.

Clash Of Clans

The first game on our list is an old one, but it’s still one of the most popular, successful, and enjoyable Android games to play with your friends.

Clash of Clans is over six years old, and I’ve played it since the day it was released on Android. In my “clan” I have friends in several different states, a buddy that lives in London, family members from all over town, and strangers that now know more about my life than most people. It’s a great way to keep in touch with friends and have fun at the same time.

At this point, almost everyone should know about Clash of Clans. It’s a top-down multiplayer strategy game where you build your own city (village) defend against attackers almost like a tower-defense game, but then can take those same troops from your village to destroy other player villages.

Over the years Supercell added clan games and clan wars, too, that way you can really compete against everyone. Download Clash of Clans, connect to Facebook, and you’ll likely find SEVERAL friends and family members that play it too. Then join their clan.

Shadowgun Legends

We know Fortnite is all the rage right now, but if you’re looking for a different multiplayer shooter game to play with your friends, try Shadowgun Legends.

Shadowgun was one of the first truly amazing shooter games for Android, and the newest version — Legends — arrived in late 2018 and it’s amazing.

Shadowgun Legends is a third-person shooter with absolutely stunning graphics, smooth gameplay, intense action, and a great single and multiplayer mode. Everything’s highly customizable, and it works on the NVIDIA Shield or with Bluetooth controllers. This game took years to build and it shows.

In the futuristic world of Legends, humanity is under attack from a deadly alien invader. The last line of defense is the Shadowguns, legendary warriors and heroes. You are a young Shadowgun recruit with limitless potential who can turn the tide of war.

What makes it a great game to play with friends is the in-game social hub and CITY. You walk around in the city, packed with gear, armor, and guns, and can meet up with your friends. At that social hub you’ll find missions to complete, agree to the terms, and go to battle. It’s more of a FPS shooter than a third-person, but they have both.

Then, MadFinger Games recently added PvP mode, a Co-Op mode so you can complete missions with buddies, and a new Capture-the-flag zone for endless fun. It’s pretty epic.

Asphalt 8: Airborne

If racing games are more your speed, you’ll want to play Asphalt 8: Airborne. And while Gameloft did release Asphalt 9 recently, the 8th installment is still my favorite racing game of all times.

Asphalt 8 is a little different from older Gameloft titles. It does away with all the simulator aspects and goes for high speeds and octane boosters. All while flying down realistic streets with natural lighting, lifelike shadows, and reflection.

You get the best graphics, high speeds, and tons of cool tricks.

Asphalt 8 delivers realistic crashes and extensive vehicle damage. You’ll enjoy arcade and multiplayer modes, and the career mode is solid too. Build a reputation and become the best racer in town. You can sync up and race your friends and family, which really makes things fun and interesting
